Tribal Abduction Violence Leads to Tragedy in Madhya Pradesh

A shocking incident of Tribal Abduction Violence occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Mauganj district. A group of tribals allegedly abducted and killed a man, escalating to an attack on a police team that responded to the crisis. This violent encounter resulted in the tragic death of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and left several other officers injured.

Incident Overview

The violent events unfolded on Saturday. Five suspects are now in custody, linked to this disturbing tribal abduction violence. According to Rewa Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Saket Pandey, two individuals, including the ASI, lost their lives, while other officers sustained minor injuries during the chaotic scene.

Background of the Incident

Reports indicate that the Kol tribals believed Sunny Dwivedi had killed one of their own, Ashok Kumar, several months prior. However, police investigations revealed that Kumar’s death was due to a road accident, not foul play. This misunderstanding led to the abduction of Dwivedi, which spiraled into violence.

Police Response and Attack

Upon receiving an alert, a police team led by Shahpur police station house officer Sandeep Bhartiya rushed to Gadra village to rescue Dwivedi. Tragically, by the time they arrived, he had already been beaten to death. When the officers attempted to intervene, the tribals launched an attack with sticks and stones, injuring multiple personnel.

Despite the grave situation, the injured officers were quickly transported to local hospitals. Unfortunately, ASI Charan Gautam from the Special Armed Force succumbed to his injuries during treatment. In a desperate attempt to disperse the violent mob, police fired shots into the air before retreating to safety.

Heavy Security Measures in Place

In response to the escalating violence, authorities have deployed a heavy police force in the area to prevent further disturbances. Mauganj Collector Ajay Shrivastava and Superintendent of Police Rachna Thakur announced that Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita has been imposed to maintain public order and safety.
