
Punjab Police Seizes 23 kg Heroin in Anti-Smuggling Operation.CHANDIGARH: In a significant victory against drug trafficking, Punjab Police seizes 23 kg heroin in an anti-smuggling operation. This operation took place in Devi Daspura village, located near Amritsar, amidst the ongoing ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign. Alongside this major drug bust, authorities have also demolished houses belonging to two additional drug peddlers in Jalandhar and Mandi Gobindgarh.

The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, announced that the preliminary investigations indicate that the heroin consignment is tied to a smuggling network run by a USA-based smuggler, Jasmit Singh, also known as Lucky. Authorities are taking decisive action against those involved in this illegal enterprise.
“In this case, we have identified the primary accused, Sahilpreet Singh, alias Karan, from Devi Daspura. He is believed to have retrieved the heroin consignment,” Yadav explained. “Multiple police teams are actively pursuing him to ensure his arrest.”
The police are intensifying their efforts, with further investigations underway to track both the backward and forward linkages of this extensive smuggling network.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Border Range) Satinder Singh, along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amritsar Rural, Maninder Singh, reported that police teams at Naka Bandi acted on reliable intelligence. They confirmed that Sahilpreet Singh had indeed retrieved the heroin consignment from across the border.
