In a significant initiative, “Empowering Women Through Storytelling on NaMo App”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon women across India to share their inspiring life stories on the NaMo App Open Forum. He believes that these narratives not only uplift others but also give voice to the remarkable achievements of women. Notably, a select few will even have the opportunity to manage his social media accounts on International Women’s Day, March 8.
The Importance of Sharing Stories
PM Modi recently took to social media, expressing his admiration for the powerful journeys shared on the NaMo App. He stated, “I’ve been seeing very inspiring life journeys being shared on the NaMo App Open Forum. I urge more such life journeys to be shared.” This initiative is part of a broader effort to celebrate women’s contributions and empower them through storytelling.Empowering Women Through Storytelling on NaMo App.
Last month, PM Modi announced a special initiative where ‘Naari Shakti’ (women power) would take over his social media accounts on March 8. This event aims to celebrate and honor the achievements of women in various fields, highlighting their essential role in shaping India’s past, present, and future.
Honoring Women’s Contributions
During his remarks, PM Modi quoted a shloka from the Devi Mahatmya, a revered Hindu philosophical text, emphasizing that all forms of knowledge are manifestations of the Goddess. He stated that this reflects the intrinsic power of women. “Respect for daughters has been given top priority in our culture,” he added, acknowledging the significant role women played in the Independence movement and the creation of the Indian Constitution.
Further highlighting this theme, PM Modi shared an audio clip of Hansa Mehta, a prominent figure in India’s freedom struggle and a constitutional draftsman. In the clip, Mehta passionately declared, “It is in the fitness of things that this first flag, that is flying over this August House, should be a gift from the women of India.” Her words remind us of the sacrifices made by women in the pursuit of freedom and equality.
