A chief proctor at a college in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras has been accused of College Proctor Sexual Exploitation by several female students. Rajneesh Kumar, who heads the Geography Department at PC Bagla College, now faces serious allegations following these reports.
Immediate Actions Taken
After the accusations surfaced, authorities quickly suspended Rajneesh Kumar, the chief proctor of Bagla Degree College. The principal, Dr. Mahavir Singh, confirmed the suspension after receiving the complaints. District officials have also taken notice of the gravity of the situation.
The UP Police registered a case against Kumar under various sections, including rape. The matter came to light after numerous female students sent anonymous complaints to local police and the National Commission for Women (NCW).
Details of the Allegations
In their complaint, the students specifically accused Rajneesh Kumar of College Proctor Sexual Exploitation. They also provided photographs that allegedly depict the chief proctor in compromising positions with some students. A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) conducted a preliminary investigation, validating the allegations by interviewing the students featured in the photographs.
The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) further scrutinized the case and confirmed the authenticity of the accusations. Following this, the police registered an FIR and initiated legal proceedings against Rajneesh Kumar.
Investigative Committee Formed
In response to these allegations, the district magistrate established a four-member committee to investigate the matter. This committee includes the sub-divisional magistrate, deputy superintendent of police, tehsildar, and the district education officer. They have been given a week to complete their investigation.
Public Outrage
The situation escalated as videos of the proctor allegedly assaulting students circulated widely on social media, igniting public outrage. Reports suggest that he has been exploiting female students for over 20 years. In the past, an FIR was lodged against him, but he was later cleared of wrongdoing.
Kumar reportedly lured female students to his office or bungalow, promising them good grades or job opportunities. He allegedly filmed these encounters, using the footage to blackmail them into silence.
Many users on social media are demanding strict action against him. One user stated, “If these allegations are true, then it is extremely shameful and reprehensible. Such incidents have occurred for 20 years, and the administration remained silent—this shows a failure of the system.”
Another added, “A person with such a cruel mentality should not be allowed to remain a teacher. The administration must publicly disclose what actions they have taken so far, as such behavior can negatively impact both education and society.”
This incident highlights the urgent need for accountability and reform within educational institutions. To stay updated on this developing story, visit The Hans Bharat.
