The CBI has charged Parashar and his co-accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, including criminal conspiracy and cheating, as well as sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The investigation has also revealed that 17 candidates were found in possession of photocopies of the leaked question papers during CBI raids at three locations in DDU Nagar. The evidence suggests that the senior DEE was responsible for creating the examination questions and circulated them through a network involving a loco pilot and an office superintendent.
