Banyan Nation Expands: ₹200 Cr Investment to Boost Jobs and Recycling in Telangana
Banyan Nation, a leading plastic waste recycling start-up, is set to invest ₹200 crore in expanding its operations in Telangana. Consequently, the company has sought additional land from the Telangana government to establish new facilities, which will significantly enhance its recycling capabilities. As a result, this investment will play a key role in bolstering the state’s recycling efforts.
Currently, the company operates a 15,000-tonne-a-year facility in Pashamylaram Industrial Area near Hyderabad. However, with the proposed expansion, Banyan Nation plans to increase its annual capacity to 45,000 tonnes. Furthermore, this project is expected to generate 500 new jobs, which aligns with the state’s vision of fostering sustainability and economic growth. Therefore, this expansion will not only improve recycling capacity but also contribute to local employment.
Government Support for Growth
Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu praised Banyan Nation’s contribution to creating a circular economy in Telangana. Moreover, he assured the company that the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) will address its request for additional land. This commitment demonstrates the government’s dedication to supporting eco-friendly enterprises, thus encouraging further investments in the region.
Banyan Nation CEO Mani Vajipey and COO Raj Kiran Madanagopal met with the Minister, alongside IT Advisor Sai Krishna and TGIIC CEO V. Madhusudhan, to discuss the expansion plans. As a result, this collaboration is expected to drive further industrial growth in the region, benefiting both businesses and local communities.
