Talasani Denies Ethanol Factory Links
BRS leader and former minister Talasani Srinivas on Thursday, November 28, denied allegations related to the approval of a new ethanol factory in Dilawarpur mandal, Nirmal district. The allegations were raised by the opposition, accusing Talasani of influencing government decisions through his family connections.
Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Talasani Srinivas admitted that his son, Talasani Sai Kiran, served as a director of the ethanol manufacturing factory for three months in 2016. However, he emphasized that no permissions were granted during his son’s brief tenure.
Talasani accused the Congress party of indulging in divisive politics and using these allegations to tarnish his and the BRS party’s reputation. He expressed disappointment at the baseless accusations being leveled against him and his family.
Talasani promised to transfer ownership of the factory if anyone could prove that his son had any involvement in its establishment or ownership. He further clarified that no government approval had been sought or granted during his son’s directorial role.
Talasani’s response came after statements from Bhuvanagiri Congress MP Ch. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who alleged that the BRS government had granted permissions for the ethanol factory’s establishment in 2022. Reddy also claimed that Talasani’s son, Talasani Sai Kiran, who was reportedly a director at PMK Distillations Pvt Ltd, played a key role in securing government approvals for the project. These allegations raised questions about the potential for favoritism and undue influence in the government’s decision-making process.
Talasani rejected these claims and emphasized that all legal procedures were followed in the ethanol factory’s approval process. He further stressed that any attempt to associate him with the factory was politically motivated and had no basis in reality.
