Warangal Architect Makes History: Shashank Bhoopathi Chosen as Telangana’s First ISRO Space Tutor
Hyderabad: Hans Bharath reports that Shashank Bhoopathi, an architect from Warangal, has been selected as Telangana’s first Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Space Tutor.
ISRO recently selected a group of Space Tutors from across India to promote space education. Bhoopathi was chosen to represent Telangana. He graduated in Architecture from JNAFAU University and founded the Ancient Technologies Design Research Lab. The lab focuses on how ancient knowledge can address modern challenges.
His work includes studying ancient architectural sites and developing theories based on their principles. He creates prototypes to improve future space missions. These include modular spacecraft, lightweight astronaut housing, and innovative satellite designs. These ideas aim to make space exploration more efficient.
Space Research Architecture is a rare field with few global experts. India has only two companies in this field. Bhoopathi’s company is the only one in South India, highlighting the importance of his work. His designs have earned him invitations to universities across the country. He conducts workshops to share his vision of merging ancient and modern science.
As an ISRO Space Tutor, Bhoopathi plans to inspire students through workshops and seminars. He is working on a project to integrate magnetic field technology into space structures. This idea draws inspiration from ancient science. Sharing his vision, Bhoopathi said, “Ancient architecture holds valuable lessons for sustainability and efficiency. By adapting these principles, we can create smarter and more reliable systems for space exploration.”
