LPG Supply Assurance: Ensuring Steady Cylinder Availability

Amid the ongoing strike by Bulk LPG transporters affiliated with the Southern Region Bulk LPG Transport Owners Association, we want to emphasize our LPG Supply Assurance to all consumers. Oil Marketing Companies (IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL) have confirmed that sufficient cylinder supplies remain available, and there is no need for public panic. Currently, our bottling plants hold ample bulk LPG stocks, and LPG distributorships will operate as usual.

Background on the Transportation Tender

The recent transportation tender resulted from extensive discussions with transporters across all regions. During these discussions, various demands emerged, prompting us to provide several clarifications addressing key concerns. We actively incorporated their feedback during pre-bid meetings in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Guwahati.

Compliance and Safety Measures

We prepared the tender terms with complete transparency, adhering to various government guidelines and central vigilance standards. Our actions align with regulations set by statutory bodies such as PESO, PNGRB, and OISD, all aimed at enhancing public safety. The new tender regulations are part of our ongoing commitment to improve the safety and efficiency of LPG transportation. Despite these efforts, a segment of transporters continues to strike, primarily requesting a rollback of penalty clauses related to safety violations.

The Importance of Safety in LPG Transportation

Implementing these safety measures ultimately benefits all stakeholders, including tanker owners, drivers, and consumers. They ensure a safer and more reliable LPG transportation network. We appeal to our stakeholders for responsible actions and understanding to maintain an uninterrupted supply of LPG cylinders while adhering to necessary safety protocols. We urge transporters to reconsider their strike to avoid disrupting essential LPG supply and inconveniencing the public.

Ongoing Communication and Commitment

Our Oil Marketing Companies remain in constant dialogue with major transporters to resolve the situation swiftly. We assure our valued customers that we are committed to maintaining a steady supply of both domestic and commercial LPG to meet all consumer needs. We encourage everyone not to panic; all necessary measures are in place to ensure smooth and uninterrupted LPG Supply Assurance.
