HYDRAA Takes Action Against Illegal Compound Wall in Divyanagar Layout

An illegal compound wall surrounding Divyanagar Layout in Pocharam Municipality, Ranga Reddy district, was demolished on Saturday by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HYDRAA). The wall had reportedly blocked access to several colonies and residential areas, causing significant inconvenience to locals.

HYDRAA Demolishes Illegal Wall : Complaints Prompt Demolition Orders

The demolition followed numerous complaints from plot owners and residents of surrounding colonies, who alleged that Nalla Malla Reddy had illegally constructed the wall and installed gates, restricting access to the layout. Residents reported that roads connecting their homes and neighboring layouts were blocked, leaving them unable to show or sell their plots. Allegations of physical intimidation against those questioning the restrictions were also raised.

Inspection by HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath

In response to these complaints, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath personally inspected the site on January 8. After assessing the situation and confirming the absence of permissions for the construction, he issued orders for the compound wall’s demolition.

Residents’ Grievances Over Development Issues

Plot owners in Divyanagar Layout expressed frustration with unfulfilled promises regarding infrastructure development. Although layout development charges were reportedly collected, essential amenities such as sewage systems and roads were never built.

HYDRAA Demolishes Illegal Wall : Demolition Brings Relief to Residents

On Saturday, HYDRAA officials carried out the demolition orders, removing the compound wall and reopening access to the blocked roads. Plot owners and local residents expressed relief, hoping for smoother connectivity and resolution of long-standing grievances.

About Divyanagar Layout

Divyanagar Layout, located in Survey No. 66 of Pocharam Municipality, spans approximately 200 acres with 2,218 plots. Locals claim that Nalla Malla Reddy owns around 30% of the plots in the layout.

The demolition has paved the way for improved accessibility and renewed hope for the residents in the affected areas.
