GHMC Approves ₹3 Crore for Drain Extension and Other Development Proposals

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has allocated ₹3 crore from the remaining funds of the stormwater drain remodelling project in Nagamaiah Kunta. The money will extend the stormwater drain works, improving drainage capacity and reducing flooding risks in the area.

  • Project Savings: The remodelling project originally received ₹39 crore. However, it was completed for ₹19.34 crore. The savings will fund the box drain extension, improving stormwater management.
  • Box Drain Extension: The funds will be used to build a box drain extension. This project will reduce waterlogging and improve overall drainage efficiency.
  • Healthcare Expansion: GHMC has approved a proposal to transfer 31.39 acres of land in Goshamahal. GHMC will use the land to build new facilities for Osmania General Hospital, boosting healthcare services.
  • Sports Promotion: GHMC will provide ₹2 lakh worth of sports materials to each corporator. This initiative will support local sports events and promote fitness in communities.
  • Commitment to Development: These proposals reflect GHMC’s dedication to improving urban infrastructure, healthcare, and community welfare. The funding will address key issues in stormwater management, healthcare, and sports, positively impacting the city.
  • Further Improvements: Besides these initiatives, GHMC plans to enhance parks and mobility systems. These upgrades aim to make Hyderabad greener, cleaner, and more livable.
