Delhi elections on February 2025:
Elections: AAP Aims for Hat-Trickas the Election Commission has confirmed that the city will vote on February 5, 2025, with results announced on February 8. This election will feature a fierce contest among the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress, each aiming to secure a victory in the national capital.
The AAP, led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is seeking a third consecutive term after winning decisively in 2015 and 2020. However, the party is currently facing a barrage of corruption allegations that threaten its credibility.
Kejriwal, who resigned as Chief Minister following his bail in a liquor policy corruption case, has assured voters that he will return to power once they place their trust in him again. The party plans to counteract anti-incumbency sentiments by promoting various welfare schemes aimed at women and the elderly.
The BJP, aiming to reclaim power after a 26-year absence, is ramping up its campaign efforts. Having performed strongly in recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has coined the term ‘AAPda’ (disaster) to criticize the ruling party’s governance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on voters to replace the AAP government, emphasizing the need to eliminate what he refers to as a threat to the city.
Meanwhile, the Congress is contesting the elections independently after previously forming an alliance with AAP for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Although Congress has been slower to kick off its campaign, it is focusing on welfare initiatives, including the ‘Pyari Didi Yojana,’ which promises financial assistance to women, countering AAP’s offerings.
After the successful launch of the guarantee programme in Karnataka, we are launching the "Pyari Didi" scheme in Delhi.

I am confident that the Congress government will be elected in Delhi, and we will implement the scheme of Rs 2500 to every woman on the first day.

As the election date approaches, the intensity of campaigning is on the rise. The chilly Delhi weather has not deterred the high-stakes race, and all three parties are working diligently to secure voter support in this critical political contest.
